~ Juicy Tangy Meatballs ~

They are addicting!
Little secret, for a thicker sauce. Make them a night before the party and store them in the refrigerator overnight. Next day heat them up in the microwave than place them in a warm Crockpot.
The sauce will thicken and caramelize the meatballs once you microwave them.

Jackie O's style

This outfit is so elegant and classy. It remains me of something that Jackie O would put one, minus the high heels and the neckless. I think she would pick a nice basic black pump and put on her gorgeous pearls.

Trading Christmas

A+: This funny, heartwarming and romantic story from Debbie Macomber makes it a perfect holiday read.  Macomber creates an inescapable world for her readers to revel in, the descriptions and narrative are so vivid that you cannot help but picture everything.  At the same time everything remains realistic and in the moment. This was one of her best Christmas stories. Full of family and Christmas cheer. I really loved the Christmas world building and the pictures painted by the author. You'll finish this book with a smile on your face.

Best Snickerdoodle Cookies Ever

I have tried now about 5 different Snickerdoodles recipes. I even tried to alter them here and there to see if they would taste better. Don't get me wrong they all were good but not amazing. This is the best one so far. The original recipe that I tired was from Lovin’ From the OvenEnd up making few changes and as of today this is the best snickerdoodle cookie recipe ever. If you try this recipe and end up changing it up to make it better, please let me know. Snickerdoodles are my son's Matthew's favorite cookies, so each year I try to make them taste better and better.

Best Chicken Noodle Soup

Chicken Noodle Soup is one of those primordial comfort foods that can soothe the soul just thinking about it, wrapping us up in a big, warm blanket. Maybe it’s our strong link to childhood that stirs up fond memories of being fed this nurturing and healing broth when we were sick. Maybe it’s this cold weather that makes us crave chicken noodle soup that truly will warm up our heart and soul. Apparently, I am not the only one because my inbox has been flooded with requests for a good and quick homemade Chicken Noodle Soup.

Best and Quick Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

I love these traditional holiday cookies, but sometimes you just don't have the time to make each recipe from scratch so we all look for the best tasting short cuts we can find.  It's always good to have a recipe you can always depend on and Pillsbury® refrigerated peanut butter cookies is mine.  However if you would like to make the same recipe from scratch, don't worry I have the recipe below.

I would love to wear that!

I have to say at 1st the jacket was questionable, but it makes a statement. So why not. As to the boots a little to high for me, wish the heel would be 1" shorter. What do you think?

Healthy Tips

1. Make fruits and veggies as accessible as a bag of chips: Wash, cut up, and store produce in reusable containers in the fridge so they're easy to grab. Make sure they're right up front at eye level so they're the first thing you see when you open the fridge door.

Perfect Blueberries for Winter

To encourage healthy eating this winter I purchased a 5 lb. box of our Michigan blueberries. They are so wonderful!

Out of the entire box I threw away two squishy berries. That is when you know they are perfect.
I freeze them and use them for smoothies, pies, muffins, pancakes and etc.
Freezing fruit is a time and money saver with such excellent nutritional value that I wanted to share this with you; and encourage you to take advantage of the seasonal fruit in your area.

Crayon on Wood or Painted Walls

Here are few tips for you that work to get crayon off wood or painted walls.

  • Wood: Slather mayonnaise on your child's artistic masterpiece and let it set for 10 minutes. The combination of oil and egg dissolves the crayon wax, so you can wipe it clean with a cloth.
  • Walls: Squeeze non-gel toothpaste onto a soft, damp cloth and lightly scrub until the scribbles are gone. Similar to the way toothpaste removes plaque from teeth without damaging enamel, its mild abrasives eradicate wax without stripping paint.

Mug Tea and Coffee Stains

For tea or coffee stains, squeeze half a lemon into the mug. Let sit for 5 minutes, then add a spoonful of salt and scrub it around with a lemon wedge. It doubles your scrubbing power.
The fruit's acid lifts the stain while the salt absorbs it.

DIY Built-In Dresser

Being short on space and storage is such a hassle. No matter how great your home. There is always some room that is a little lacking. Have you ever considered a built in dresser? You can find something to exactly fit your space, it will be flush with the wall, and it won’t take up any of the floor space in your room. I am on board! Now I have to find the perfect wall. Hmm.........

Make sure to line the outside of the box with cedar just in case there are any bugs lurking in the cut out space. Then you would slide the drawer structure into the space. The best part is now you have 3 more drawers of storage but it doesn't take away from the floor space!

40 Love

A - because it was very unclear where the story was going in the first few chapters, but then it was great. A group of unsuspecting friends are invited to a tennis weekend. As the weekend progresses, financial deals are made and broken, an old lover shows up at the party putting one of the couple's marriages in jeopardy and friendships are tested. It's a perfect example that money can't buy happiness.

Scrambled Egg and Bacon Bunny Breakfast

The scrambled egg & bacon bunny breakfast is a cute idea to bring a smile to your kids face. To make a pink nose, use a pink fresh raspberry.  The whites of the eyes are piped with cream cheese, eyeballs are fresh blueberries and the whiskers are stands of string cheese. The mouth was formed by a space in the eggs. Happy Easter :)

Creamy Hard Boiled Eggs

I love a good hard-boiled egg. The emphasis here is on the word good. It is SO hard to get a good hard boiled egg. Baked eggs are better because they are less smelly and the texture of the finished egg is creamier. It's just 325 degrees for 30 minutes. It works especially great when you are making a lot of hard boiled eggs...like for Easter. They are really delicious! You will be amazed!

April 2014 Declutter & Organize!

April 2014 Declutter & Organize!

As you all know from my March 2014 Declutter & Organize post my biggest challenge is to be more organized, and I would like to declutter my house. Being able to find things when I am looking for them makes me happy. I used to think that I need a bigger space, more room, a larger home.  Strike that! You can live comfortably and grandly in any living space as long as you limit your possessions to the ones you actually need and love.

It’s very easy in a busy life such as ours to let a few things slide here and there, and before you know it, you have a big mess! Let’s face it - “clutter happens” and clutter is one of the biggest time wasters of our house keeping duties. Well no more mess! I am getting back on track!

So I have created now for April a calendar that I will share with you to help me stay focused. If you feel overwhelmed at your house, please join me in this monthly challenge.

Here are few tips that I set for myself:
~ Work a calendar day assignment with music or something that will motivate
~ If I don’t finish the assignment, I will start again the next day with this
~ Declutter with bags: trash bag, donation bag and put away bag
~ Every month create a box called 3 months (you will rotate with 3 boxes), place
item not used for 1 year in the box. If I don’t need it in 3 moths put it in
    donation or trash bag.
~ Clean all areas that you declutter.

Which Paint Color to Pick?

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Which paint color to pick for my bedroom is the hardest question for me. Let’s face it, what ever we pick will result in either a flurry of smiles on our faces or a painful silence each time you enter the room. I have read that a small bedroom will appear smaller if the walls are painted in a dark color, so since my bedroom is medium sized with chocolate color furniture, I decided light and neutral colors would be the ideal selection. Of course if you have a large bedroom, you can definitely experiment with bright or dark color hues.
So here are my favorite paint picks, now I just have to decide on the final two and than see which one appeals more to my hubby. Of course this is more easy said than done, because I love them all. So I am asking you to help me pick the final 2.
